The University Institute of Law (UIL) at Sant Baba Bhag Singh University (SBBSU) organised an insightful guest lecture on the topic "Revenue Courts versus Civil Courts: Jurisdiction and Procedural Differences." The lecture was delivered by former MP Avinash Rai Khanna, Professor of Practice at UIL, SBBSU.
In his address, Khanna elaborated on the constitutional and procedural distinctions between revenue and civil courts, emphasising their respective jurisdictions in matters related to land, property and administration. He also shared real-world examples to illustrate key procedural aspects and judicial practices, highlighting the importance of understanding these differences for aspiring lawyers.
Vice-Chancellor, Prof (Dr) Dharamjit Singh Parmar, released Avinash Rai Khanna's autobiography titled "Ek Safar." The book chronicles his inspiring journey from humble beginnings to his significant contributions in public life, politics and social service. Through vivid narration and personal reflections, "Ek Safar" stands as a beacon of motivation for readers, especially the youth, inspiring them to embrace integrity, leadership, and service to the nation.
