As the coronavirus pandemic continues to make headlines everywhere, the novel virus found its mention in a three-day camp that was organised by the Kheti Virasat Mission too. Known as the ‘Millet Man of India’, Dr Khader Valli from Mysuru during his session at the camp apprised the importance of having strong immunity, along with ways to boost the immune system.
He also gave ways with which one can enhance immunity against every viral disease, including coronavirus. He said seven leaves were important in increasing immunity — durva (bermuda grass), tulsi (holy basil), giloye (tinospora cardifolia), bel (aegle), karanj (pongamia pinnata), neem and peepal. The doctor said the decoction (kaadha) of these important leaves increases immunity and a person could protect himself from any viral disease.
“One must consume decoction of each leave for two days and thus, the seven leaves would be consumed in two weeks,” he said, adding that in 14 days, one could attain complete immunity if they have them regularly.
“Every day, people should have the kaadha twice a day,” Dr Khader Velli said.
Velli said having sugar in diet was the main reason to lose immunity.
“I also advise that one should not have milk and sugar due of which immunity is lost,” Dr Velli said.
In his speech he also said wheat and rice should not be the part of one’s routine, instead millets should be consumed.
Besides, early morning sunbathing was also advised to increase immunity.
Dedicated to the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, Kheti Virasat Mission (KVM), an NGO, held ‘kudarti kheti-kudarti sehat karajshala’ awareness programme for four days, from March 13 to 16 in Sultanpur Lodhi.
