An explosion was reported at a railway crossing in Tanda on Thursday. Panic spread among people due to the loud noise of the explosion. Gateman Sonu, who was posted near the site, was slightly injured in the incident, which occurred at 11.30 am at railway crossing No. 71 near Palla Chakk village on the Jalandhar-Jammu railway route.

After receiving information about the incident, personnel of from GRP and Punjab Police rushed to the spot. SSP Surendra Lamba said upon investigation, it was found that the explosion had been caused by a firecracker made of potash. He added that such firecrackers are used by farmers to scare wild boars.
