Addressing farmers, MLA Raja Gill appealed to them to shun stubble burning and instead use the modern machinery provided by the Agriculture Department. He said stubble burning not only pollutes the environment but also reduces soil fertility, harming future crops.

Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain interacted with nodal and cluster officers, nambardars, sarpanches and progressive farmers. She emphasised that subsidised machinery should reach small and marginal farmers on priority basis and directed officials to maintain constant communication with cultivators to ensure effective stubble management.

Farmers can call between 9 am and 7 pm for assistance.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sandeep Malik assured full cooperation by the Police Department and urged proactive action. SDM Tanda Parmpreet Singh called upon all officials and village representatives to work for achieving the zero-burning target.
