Father-in-law arrested for abetment to suicide

The Basti Bawa Khel police on Sunday arrested a man for allegedly forcing his daughter-in-law to end her life.
Reportedly, a newly married woman committed suicide on Saturday at her residence in Adarsh Nagar. The deceased, identified as Shilpa, in her suicide note had blamed her husband and in-laws for forcing her to take such an extreme step. She reportedly consumed poison before writing the suicide note. Her father told the police that Shilpa got married last year on April 27. She was being harassed at her in-laws house and from past few months she was residing with her parents.
SHO, Basti Bawa Khel police station, said on the basis of the suicide note of the deceased, her father in-law Girdhari Lal has been arrested and the police have started looking for her husband.
