A father-son duo was killed on the spot in a severe collision between a bus and a motorcycle on the Jalandhar road in Kapurthala late Wednesday evening.

Following the incident, a police team reached the location and shifted the bodies to the mortuary of the Civil Hospital for the post-mortem examination. The police have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the mishap.

The deceased were identified as Sarwan Singh, 65, and his son Amandeep Singh, 40, residents of Mannana village. According to family members, Sarwan Singh had been suffering from a fracture in his right leg and was on his way to a doctor to have his plaster removed. He was travelling on a motorcycle with his son when the accident occurred.

As the two approached Peer Chaudhary Mor, their motorcycle reportedly collided head-on with a bus, leaving both men critically injured. Passersby and police personnel immediately rushed them to the Civil Hospital, where the doctor declared them dead on arrival. The police have taken custody of the bodies and initiated a detailed probe to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
