Jalandhar, February 2

A female foetus was found at in a pond at Sarai Jattan village in Sultanpur Lodhi here today.

People, who were going to a religious site, spotted the foetus in the village pond. After getting information, the police reached the spot. They took the foetus into their possession and started investigations into the case.

SHO Hargurdev Singh said the foetus was sent to the Civil Hospital for post-mortem examination. Medical teams also started searching data of pregnant women in the area to trace the suspect who dumped the foetus.

The SHO said: “It appears to be a female foetus. It has been kept in the mortuary of the Civil Hospital. Action will be taken against the person who dumped the foetus.”
