The AAP government today organised a state-level event in Jalandhar to commemorate the 648th Parkash Purb of Guru Ravidas. Minister for Defence Services Welfare and Horticulture, Mohinder Bhagat, who was a special guest, emphasised the need to follow teachings of Guru Ravidas for the creation of an ideal society.
He urged the people to take inspiration from Guru Ravidas’ teachings and strive tirelessly toward building an egalitarian society.
He said Guru Ravidas’ message of compassion, love and brotherhood provided new direction to the masses.
Bhagat announced a grant of Rs 25 lakh for the Guru Ravidas Charitable Trust. He assured support for future projects and encouraged the management to submit proposals for upcoming initiatives.
The minister reiterated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government was committed to the welfare of all sections of society.
He said teachings of Guru Ravidas and ideals of Dr BR Ambedkar would continue to guide Punjab towards a progressive and prosperous future.
