The District Health Officer said that viral infection was spreading and three cases of swine flu had been reported in the district. He said that when Food Street was started, the FBOs were given regular training about meeting food safety standards but its impact was short-lived. The DHO appealed to the people that they should object to the street vendors, dhaba workers and shopkeepers if they do not have a copy of the food safety licence, caps, gloves and face mask. If someone does not follow food safety standards, then they should not buy eatables from them, he added.
