Football tourney gets underway at Rayat Bahra Education City

A football tournament commenced at Rayat Bahra Education City today, featuring 32 teams from various regions. The tournament was inaugurated by campus director Dr Chandra Mohan today. “The tournament aims to continue fostering sportsmanship and excellence in the region with a motive to raise awareness about sports among the youth and provide a platform to showcase their hidden talent,” he said.

The opening match witnessed an impressive performance by the team from Gujjarpur, who secured a 1-0 victory over Chabbewal. Sports Officer Gurpreet Singh announced that the winning team will receive a trophy along with a cash prize of Rs 21,000 while the runners-up will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 1,000. The team ranked third will receive Rs 5,000.
