Phagwara: The police have booked four miscreants on the charge of snatching cash from a petrol pump salesman. Parwindar Singh of Chak Kalan village complained to the police that four persons snatched Rs 30,000 from salesman Sanjit Kumar working at his MR Filling Station, Sarihn village, on August 25 night. Investigating Officer Harjit Singh said a case under Sections 304 (snatching) and 3(5) (committing a crime with common intention) of the BNS has been registered against them.

Six booked for kidnapping

Phagwara: The police have booked six persons on the charges of kidnapping and assaulting a villager. The accused have been identified as Rakesh of Raje Wal village, Kaka of Aali Wal village in Ludhiana and Ajay, Bitta, Viki and Shaiba, all residents of Bakar Dian Chhana village under Mehatpur police station. Baljit Singh of Raje Wal Khurd village said the accused assaulted and kidnapped him on September 1. A case has been registered against the accused.

Fleeing drug peddler nabbed

Phagwara: The police have arrested an absconding 'drug peddler'. The accused has been identified as Manveer Singh of Thatha village in Taran Tarn. As much as 6 kg of heroin worth Rs 3 crore and Rs 3,000 drug money were seized from the possession of the accused and his accomplices. The main accused Gujral Singh, alias Joga, of Boot village in Kapurthala was arrested on June 12, 2023.
