The Mehatpur police have arrested three drug peddlers on the charge of supplying and selling heroin and intoxicating tablets. Investigating officer (IO) Gurnam Singh said 20 grams of heroin and 1,124 intoxicating tablets (loose) were recovered from the possession of the accused identified as Kuljit Singh, alias Babu, and Harjindar Singh, alias Saabi, of Umrewal village.
The IO said the accused told the police that they purchased contraband from Amandeep Singh, alias Raja, a resident of Bute Dian Chhana village, who was also arrested. The IO said an Activa scooter, bike and a weighing scale was recovered from the accused.
The Lohian Khas police also arrested one Jaswant Singh, alias Jassi, of Pipply village after recovering 49 intoxicating tablets from his possession, said IO Balveer Chand.
