Free training at Kapurthala C-PYTE for Army, police aspirants from July 5

In a major step to support youth preparing for careers in the armed forces and police services, the C-PYTE (Centre for Placement of Youth in Territorial Employment) camp at Theh Kanjla, Kapurthala, has started free physical training sessions for candidates aspiring to join the Indian Army under the Agniveer scheme and the Punjab Police.

According to Captain Ajit Singh, in charge of the camp, the initiative aims to provide structured physical training to those who have already appeared for written exams or are preparing to do so. The training is being offered free of cost and is open to candidates from several districts, including Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Hoshiarpur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Gurdaspur and Pathankot.

The programme, set to begin formally on July 5, offers more than just physical fitness sessions. The Punjab government has ensured comprehensive support for participants, including coaching for written tests, free accommodation, and meals—all within the camp premises. Captain Singh emphasised that this initiative is designed to remove financial and logistical barriers that often hinder rural youth from preparing adequately for recruitment into the armed forces and state police.

To enrol, candidates are required to bring essential documents such as their Aadhaar card, matriculation or 10+2 certificate, caste certificate (if applicable), and two passport-sized photographs. Both Agniveer and Punjab Police aspirants are eligible to join.

The camp has also been equipped with a modern gym and updated sports equipment to help candidates meet the physical standards required during recruitment trials. With a focus on disciplined training and structured support, the C-PYTE Kapurthala camp is positioning itself as a vital stepping stone for Punjab’s youth aiming to serve the nation.
