Ashwini Aggarwal (47) , who is running the industrial unit of gun metals, has made his foray into the world of politics. He is AAP’s candidate for the councillor’s post in Ward number 80. He is also the Lok Sabha in-charge of the party.

An ambitious Aggarwal belongs to the family of businessmen, so his entering the politics was a shocker for everyone, even for his family. Later, everyone accepted the fact.

Father of three, Aggarwal is also a contender for the post of deputy mayor or mayor. “I have worked really hard for the party and am a contender for the post of mayor/deputy mayor. No one in my family has ever contested for any elections. Politics has never interested anyone’s mind. But I have always had a wish to help people. I joined AAP and, for the last three years, was working for the people of my ward. So, I thought of getting into active politics and am 100 per cent sure of win. I have people’s support with me,” a confident Aggarwal said.

Aggarwal starts his day at 7.30 am and till 8.30 pm, he remains in contact with people of his ward. From going door to door to holding meetings with residents and know their problems, he does it all.

He has a clear vision for his ward. “I want to ensure that our parks are well-maintained, there is a problem of streetlights as well which will be resolved. Also, high tension wires is another threat and it will remain my priority as well. There are problems in Dada Colony as well,” he said.

His wife has been visiting various houses to seek votes for her husband. “There is a enthusiasm among my family members who were taken aback with the decision of contesting elections,” he said.
