The arrests followed a complaint lodged by Desraj, a resident of Lamba Pind, Jalandhar, who reported that his shop was burgled on August 15.

Desraj stated that when he returned the next day, he found that 10 submersible motors had been stolen. Acting on a complaint, an FIR was registered at Rama Mandi Police Station on August 16.

The police, utilising a combination of human intelligence and scientific methods, identified the suspects as Deepak, also known as Deepu, Sunil Kumar, also known as Jaadu, and Roman. All three reside in the Santoshi Nagar area of Jalandhar. During investigation, the police authorities also recovered three stolen motors from their possession.
