Gangster arrested in Kapurthala

The Kapurthala police have arrested gangster Kamalpreet Singh, alias Jassa, a resident of Dashmesh Avenue, Circular Road, Kapurthala. The arrest was made following credible intelligence provided by an informer.

According to Sub-Inspector Mangal Singh, who led the operation, Kamalpreet Singh is accused of running a gang that has been involved in multiple criminal activities across the city. Several cases are already registered against him and he was reportedly in possession of illegal firearms at the time of his arrest.

During the raid, the police recovered two pistols and 24 cartridges from the accused. A case has been registered against him under Sections 25, 54, and 59 of the Arms Act and Section 111 of the IPC.

The police stated that the action is part of an ongoing crackdown on organised crime and illegal weapons in Kapurthala district.
