Gaurav Tura has taken charge as SSP, Kapurthala. The officer, while taking charge as SSP, said greater efforts would be made to check the drug menace.

He said, “Drug smugglers will be dealt with strictly, while awareness seminars will also be organised in educational institutions to create awareness about the ill-effects of drugs so that a public movement can be created for the prevention of drugs."

Earlier, a contingent of the Punjab Police saluted him and all SPs, DSPs and other senior officers welcomed him.

SSP Tura also held his first meeting with senior officers and along with collecting information about the district, the officers were asked to perform their duties with full dedication.

SP Sarabjit Rai, SP Gurpreet Singh and all DSPs and other officers were present.
