Around 40 women employees drawn from different departments, including the BSF, Punjab Police, Customs, Immigration, LPAI, Health and Plant Quarantine participated in a day-long workshop on gender sensitisation at the Land Port Attari on Tuesday.

Organised by the Land Ports Authority of India (LPAI), speakers stressed on equal participation of men and women at workplaces.

Rekha Raikar Kumar, Member (Finance), LPAI, New Delhi, was the chief guest. She said both men and women were equal and discharging their services efficiently. At workplace, women employees should be provided all facilities to make them comfortable, she said.

Prof Deepa Sikand, Dean Faculty, Education and Satnam Singh Deol, Associate Professor, both from Guru Nanak Dev University addressed to make participants aware on the subject.

Earlier, Suraj Bhan Handa, manager, LPAI welcomed the participants and speakers. He delivered views on gender sensitisation as well as gender stereotype and human trafficking.
