GNA varsity hosts tech fest to promote innovation, problem-solving skills

GNA University’s School of Engineering, Design and Automation successfully hosted its annual technical fest “Tech-Pragya 2025” in collaboration with the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), drawing participation from more than 600 students representing universities and colleges across North India.

The event served as a vibrant platform for young innovators to showcase creativity, technical proficiency, and problem-solving skills through a series of competitive events designed to promote excellence in engineering and technology.

The valedictory ceremony was attended by Dr Pratapsinh Kakasaheb Desai, President of ISTE, New Delhi, who inspired students with an address highlighting the growing significance of innovation and continuous learning in today’s rapidly evolving technological landscape. The event was further graced by distinguished Guests of Honour, including Dr RP Singh Sukerchakia, ISTE Section Chairman for Punjab, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh and J&K; Dr SK Gandhi, Secretary, ISTE (Punjab, Chandigarh, HP & J&K); S Buta Singh Sidhu, former Vice-Chancellor, MRSPTU Bathinda; Dr Deep Kamal Kaur Randhawa, Professor, GNDU Regional Campus Ladhewali; Dr. Neha Dutta, Professor, Chandigarh University; Dr Mithilesh Kumar Dubey, Professor, Lovely Professional University; and Dr Ankur Gill, Director, SVIET Banur. Their presence and encouraging words added immense value to the occasion.

A major highlight of Tech-Pragya 2025 was the inauguration of the ISTE Faculty Chapter at GNA University by President S Gurdeep Singh Seehra and Pro-Chancellor Jasleen Kaur Seehra, marking an important milestone for the institution in strengthening its commitment toward academic growth and development.

The fest featured nine major technical and creative competitions coordinated by faculty mentors, with students showcasing exceptional talent in web development, coding, cybersecurity, innovation, project design, art-tech fusion, poster creation and CAD modelling. Participants from Lamrin Tech Skill University, IKG Punjab Technical University, Lovely Professional University, Chitkara University, GNDU Regional Campus, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Rayat Bahra University and various other institutions secured top positions across categories, while GNA University students delivered commendable performances in multiple events.

More than 30 students from different institutions, including GNA University, were felicitated for excellence in academics, innovation, and technical skills. Winners were awarded cash prizes of Rs 2100 and Rs 1100 along with trophies and certificates, while all participants received certificates.
