On a complaint lodged by a generator mechanic Vishal Nayyar of Jalandhar, the police have registered a case against two robbers on the charges of kidnapping the complainant and snatching cash worth Rs 20,000, a two-tola gold bracelet and his mobile phone at the Phagwara-Palahai road on Monday.

The complainant told the police that he was going to repair a generator near Santokhpura locality in Phagwara and stopped his car on the roadside when two robbers struck, pushed him in his car and drove towards village Palahai.

The victim said that the miscreants snatched his belongings after stopping the car on Palahai road and managed to escape leaving him behind in a state of shock. The police are investigating the matter. — OC
