More than two weeks after the name of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Doaba zone in-charge Rajwinder Kaur Thiara had been announced as the Chairperson of Jalandhar Improvement Trust (JIT), the government on Saturday finally released an official notification for her appointment.

This paves the way for her to join the Jalandhar Improvement Trust. Notifications have also been issued for the appointment of Dr Jasbir, Harcharan Singh Sandhu and Atam Prakash Bablu as trustees of the Jalandhar Improvement Trust. Thiara will replace Jagtar Singh Sanghera, a long time party loyalist and Punjab spokesperson of the party for the past nearly 10 years.

All four are expected to join office from next week in the presence of senior party functionaries. Thiara was learnt to be away in Chandigarh today for discussions with seniors in the party on her new assignment. She already is the halqa in-charge of Jalandhar Cantonment Assembly seat.
