Jalandhar, January 25

Various educational institutions celebrated Republic Day on their premises in the city today.

Sanskriti KMV School

With the tricolour verve on the campus, Sanskriti KMV School organised an assembly to mark the 71st Republic Day. Students presented the importance of constitution, its features for better understanding and the need to abide by it.

Rachna Monga, principal in her address asserted on the belief and action in true spirit of an individual. She inspired the students to tread the path of honest working and keeping the trust of their mentors to become the progressive citizens of the nation. She awarded the students who brought laurels in various co-scholastic areas, in inter-school competitions.

Lyallpur Khalsa College

The Army and NCC wing of the Army of Lyallpur Khalsa College celebrated the 71st Republic Day with patriotic fervour. Cadets displayed a march past, led by senior cadets Amit Sanger and Rupak Kumar. The ceremony was observed by the chief guest Sardarni Balbir Kaur, president of the governing council and principal Dr Gurpinder Singh Samra.

Addressing the cadets, Dr Samra remarked that the country had achieved the Independence after many sacrifices wherein millions fought against the English sovereignty. Flying Officer Air Force Wing Prof Manpreet Singh Lehal and Dr Karanbir Singh, ANO Army Wing along with the Heads of various departments of the college were also present.

Innocent Heart Schools

Five schools of Innocent Heart, Green Model Town, Loharan, Cantt-Jandiala Road, The Royal World and Kapurthala Road campus celebrated the Republic Day with patriotic zeal. Students of pre-school to KG-II were full of enthusiasm. Some of them were dressed Dr BR Ambedkar, Sarojini Naidu, Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru and Jhansi ki Rani.

A special assembly was conducted where a speech on the Republic Day was delivered by a student of Class VIII.
