Health notes: Low Vision Awareness Month

Jalandhar: Members of Rotary Club Jalandhar West, in collaboration with Dr. Arora Retina and Eye Hospital Jalandhar and the Rotaract Club of Prem Chand Markanda College, organized a special project, “Peripheral Vision Self-Test,” to raise awareness about low vision for young students and the public of Jalandhar district. The project was formally inaugurated by Dr Himanshu Aggarwal, Deputy Commissioner of Jalandhar, who stressed the importance of supporting this noble initiative aimed at protecting and improving the vision of students who may suffer from eyesight problems during their studies.

Cardiologist at CHIP CTO Conference

Jalandhar: Dr Raman Chawla, Chief Cardiologist and Interventionist at Carebest Superspeciality Hospital in Jalandhar, participated as a faculty member at the prestigious 6th chapter of the CHIP CTO Conference in New Delhi. The conference was led by world-renowned interventional cardiologists, including Dr Ashok Seth from India, Dr Ajar Kochar from the USA, Dr Anirban Chowdhury from the United Kingdom, Dr Amir Kaki from the USA, and Dr Duk-woo Park from South Korea. Dr Chawla was the only cardiologist from Punjab invited to participate. Specialising in managing complex high-risk procedures, particularly with advanced techniques like IVUS (Intravascular Ultrasound) and ROTA, his contributions focused on improving long-term results for complex coronary artery procedures.
