Highlight steps taken for betterment of schools on social media, DEOs told

The Education Department has asked district education officers (DEOs) to highlight various efforts being made by the department in the field of education in government schools.

The DEOs have been advised to use social media to disseminate the information on the works and initiatives taken for the betterment of government schools.

Following the instructions, posters have been pasted outside many schools in this regard. Through these posters, officials have given detailed information regarding the achievements of the respective schools. Besides, they are sharing the same on social media.

In a communique to the DEOs, the Education Department has instructed them to use social media to make people aware of its efforts. “Visits have been made to several schools in every district and during meetings and interactions, it has been suggested that the usage of social media must be increased,” it reads.

The circular further reads that the steps and initiatives of the Education Department such as ‘mission cent per cent’, ‘smart schools’, achievements in sports, free books to students and other facilities must be told to people.

Even block primary education Officer (BPEOs) and school principals have been asked to actively take part in it.

The principal of a government primary school in Phillaur has prepared posters depicting achievements of students pasted and pasted outside the school. Besides, he also took to social medial to highlight their achievements .

The school has also printed clips of articles, which throw light on the school and other facilities being provided to students, on the poster.

Girls from the school, who belong to the economically poor background, had recently participated in the district-level primary school games held in Adampur. There was no coach to train them. Despite it, these swimming lovers surprised everyone.

The girls competed with well-trained participants from private schools.
