‘Hind Di Chadar’ show highlights Guru’s sacrifice, spiritual journey

As part of the series of events marking the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur, the Punjab Government organised a grand ‘Hind Di Chadar’ light and sound show at the local ITI Ground. The event drew a massive gathering of devotees and offered an immersive depiction of Guru’s life, philosophy, teachings and supreme sacrifice.

The presentation showcased Guru Tegh Bahadur’s extraordinary martyrdom, the historical evolution of the Sikh faith, the community’s rich spiritual heritage and the origins of the Khalsa Panth. Devotees witnessed portrayals of Guru Ji’s birth, key life events, the principle of Miri-Piri, Baba Bakala and other significant aspects of his journey.

Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema attended the programme and invited the congregation to participate in major commemorative events scheduled from November 23 to 25 at Sri Anandpur Sahib. Addressing the gathering, he announced that a Nagar Kirtan would commence from Srinagar on November 19 and reach Nawanshahr on November 22, where it would be warmly welcomed by devotees.

Cheema also outlined a series of events planned at Sri Anandpur Sahib, including the commencement of Sri Akhand Path Sahib; a special exhibition on Guru’s life; tours of Virasat-e-Khalsa, Bhai Jaita Ji Memorial and Panj Pyare Park; heritage walks; a special Vidhan Sabha session dedicated to Guru Tegh Bahadur; a drone show; the launch of a state-level blood donation drive; a plantation campaign; and Gurbani Kirtan programmes centred on the message of ‘Sarbat da Bhala’. He urged the Sangat to participate wholeheartedly.

The event was attended by Balachaur MLA Santosh Kataria, Punjab Water Resources Management and Development Corporation Vice Chairman Kuljit Singh Sarhal, District Planning Committee Chairman Satnam Singh Jalalpur, Nagar Improvement Trust Chairman and a large number of devotees.
