Phagwara, August 4
A massive congregation of Hindu leaders from across Punjab gathered at the Jago Hindu Mahasammelan held at the Shri Hanuman Garhi Temple in Phagwara today.
The event showcased a united front of various organisations, which collectively issued a warning to both Punjab and Centre that any injustice towards the community would not be tolerated.
Speakers at the event lamented that Hindus were often treated as the second-class citizens.
A 25-members core committee was formed tasked with addressing issues affecting Hindus in Punjab. The committee includes Sanjeev Ghanoli of the Shiv Sena, Punjab, Nishant Sharma of the Shiv Sena Hind, Jai Gopal Lali of the Hindu United Front, Inderjit Karwal, Shiv Sena Punjab, Rajiv Tandon, Hindu Sanyukat Morcha, and Deepak Bhardwaj of the Hindu Suraksha Samiti among others.
