The selection of Hoshiarpur District Cricket Association Centre’s Surabhi and Anjali in the Punjab U-23 team has led to excitement among the residents and sportspersons in Hoshiarpur. Giving information in this regard, HDCA secretary Raman Ghai said that there was happiness among the cricket players of Hoshiarpur and HDCA with the selection of Surabhi, a Class X student of Woodland Overseas School, and Anjali Seemar, a BA-I student of Government College, in the Punjab team.
Ghai said that apart from Anjali and Surabhi, Shivani of Hoshiarpur had also got a place in the Punjab U-23 standby. He said that both these players of Hoshiarpur had also played in Punjab U-19 team before this. He informed that the Punjab team would leave from the PCA, Mohali, on March 3 to participate in the BCCI tournament in Puducherry from March 5 to March 13.
Expressing happiness over the selection of Anjali and Surabhi, Ghai said that along with the entire Hoshiarpur district, the HDCA was also proud of these players. He further said that the selected Punjab U-23 team would take training under chief coach Madhu Kapoor at the PCA Stadium from February 23 to March 2.
HDCA president Daljit Khela congratulated the players and said that the hard work Surabhi and Anjali were putting in, they would soon make their place at the international level in the future.
