Due to the bandh call given by various organisations in protest against the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, there was a complete bandh in the city today.

Government institutions, banks, schools, etc, also remained closed. The open shops were closed on the appeal of the organisations. The police had also made extensive arrangements to maintain law and order and the entire situation was being monitored by district police chief Sandeep Kumar Malik.

Slogans were also raised against Pakistan and terrorism. During the bandh, disputes between protesters and shopkeepers were also reported at some places, which were resolved immediately due to the promptness of the administration. Various leaders, including district BJP president Nipun Sharma, Bharat Bhaushan Sharma, Vishal Adia, former councillor Suresh Bhatia Bittu, Ashwani Gaind, state president of the Shri Bhagwan Parshuram Sena Ashutosh Sharma, state president of the Shiv Sena Hindustan Rajinder Rana said such a heinous act will not be tolerated at any cost. He said Pakistan has always promoted terrorism against India, but this attack is an inhuman act, which is condemnable.
