House burgled in Phagwara village
A case of theft has been reported from Tada Bhagana village under Phagwara in Kapurthala district where burglars broke into a house in the early hours on May 3. The thieves made their entry by breaking the wall of the store room while the family was asleep.
The house owner, Gurjeet Singh, stated that he heard some noises around 2:30 am but chose to ignore them, assuming it was nothing unusual. It was only in the morning that the family discovered their house ransacked. Upon checking, they found that Rs 12,000, a 1.5 tola gold chain and several brass utensils were missing from the cupboard.
Cops from Rawalpindi Station reached the spot soon after receiving the complaint and launched an investigation.
A case has been registered against unknown individuals. Investigating officer ASI Pargat Singh confirmed that efforts are underway to identify and trace the culprits.
