House burgled, one arrested

The house of Kulwinder Kaur was reportedly burgled in Narangshahpur near Phagwara on Thursday night. The victim told the police that her family was away to Nawanshahr to meet her parents, but found the house burgled when returned.The burglars entered the house after breaking the locks and took away gold earrings, tops, silver bangles, silver anklets and cash of Rs 5,000/-.

She told the police that a neighbour alerted them that the lock of the house’s inner gate appeared damaged and the lights inside were switched on. Upon returning to the residence, they discovered the main lock broken, the almirah opened and valuables missing.

The complainant identified suspicion toward a local resident Sandeep Kumar, who was later arrested by the police.
