The investigation wing of the Income Tax Department, Jalandhar, on March 19 conducted raids at over 10 premises across four states of Punjab, Jammu, Delhi and UP.

The raids were conducted under the supervision of Principal Director of Income Tax, Ludhiana, and were aimed to target some persons allegedly involved in filing the Income Tax Returns, claiming bogus refunds. Sources have confirmed that I-T Department has found a huge tax evasion by the tax defaulters.
