IMA sees hike in charges fixed for services
Hoshiarpur, February 5
The Indian Medical Association (IMA), in a meeting with Cabinet Minister Brahm Shankar Jimpa regarding the Farishtey Scheme of the Punjab government for providing treatment to road accident victims, suggested that the charges fixed for services under the scheme should be hiked. The IMA also sought protection to private health institutions to prevent vandalisation or any other untoward incident when accident victims were brought there.
IMA president Dr Balwinderjit Singh appreciated the efforts made by the Punjab government to save lives through the Farishtey Scheme. He assured Cabinet Minister Jimpa that the entire medical community would support the government.
Dr Balvinder said the charges fixed for the services to be provided under Farishtey Scheme for reimbursement were not viable, so the government should raise them for smooth and effective services.
