Man held for selling liquor

Phagwara: The Mehatpur police arrested Gurdev of Raipur Arian village for selling country-made liquor. Sixty bottles of liquor were recovered from him. A case was registered against accused and another Balveer Singh of Beetalan village, who managed to flee from the spot.

Man succumbs to burn injuries

Phagwara: A villager succumbed to burn injuries on Wednesday. Investigating Officer (IO) Jagtar Singh said the deceased was identified as Sahej Deep of Pati Laksian Malsian village. The father of the deceased told the police that his son Sahej died of burn injuries sustained in the fire.
