Three booked for snatching

Phagwara: The Shahkot police have arrested a miscreant and booked his two accomplices on charges of snatching and assaulting a villager. Investigating officer (IO) Sarwan Singh said the accused were identified as Sahil, alias Sukha, of Saidpur village. Pawan, of Saliachan village complained to the police that the accused and his two accomplices waylaid him in a Shahkot bazaar, and assaulted and snatched valuables from him on July 9. The IO said a case was registered against the accused and his accomplices Karan Aujla and Aatish, residents of Saidpur village. In another incident, the Bilga police booked three residents of Mao Sahib village for assaulting Malkit Ram of the same village, said IO Charanjit Singh.

Two held for consuming drug

Phagwara: The Nakodar Sadar police have arrested two drug addicts on the charge of consuming heroin. Investigating Officer (IO) Jagtar Singh said the accused were identified as Amana and Gurpreet of Dhaliwal village. The IO said a lighter, a silver paper and a plastic pipe used for consuming contraband were recovered from their possession. A case was registered under Sections 27/ 61/85 of the NDPS Act against the accused, the IO said.
