In Brief: Scooterist killed
Phagwara: A scooterist was killed when a speeding truck bearing the registration number HP-D-1709 hit his two-wheeler near Phagwara on the national highway on Thursday night. The deceased, identified as Jaspal Singh, a resident of Dhannowali village near Rama Mandi, was returning home. The truck driver, however, managed to escape leaving his truck behind. The police have registered a case under Sections 304-A, 279 and 427 of BNS.
Two thieves arrested
Phagwara: The police have arrested two migrants from Uttar Pradesh and recovered two large-size LCDs stolen from the guest house of Harshit Madan near Law Gate, Miherru. The accused were identified as Munshi and Pawan, residents of Nurpur (UP). A case under Sections 454, 380 and 411 of the BNS has been registered against the arrested thieves, who have confessed to their crime.
3 booked for assaulting man
Phagwara: The Nakodar police have booked three persons on the charge of assaulting a villager. Investigating officer Rajindar Pal Singh said the accused had been identified as Kulwant Singh, his son Sahil and Bhinda, all residents of Nagal Jiwan village. The complainant and the accused had a verbal duel, followed by an assault over the parking of a motorcycle.
