Indian Navy Mumbai, Indian Railway Delhi in semi-finals

Indian Navy Mumbai defeated Indian Air Force 4-2 in a penalty shootout and Indian Railway Delhi defeated BSF Jalandhar 5-0 to enter the semifinals of the 42nd Indian Oil Servo Surjit Hockey Tournament. The first two quarter-final matches were played on the seventh day of the tournament at the Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium, Jalandhar.

In the first quarterfinal, the Indian Navy Mumbai and Indian Air Force teams put up a great show. Kriappa Mandapanda scored a goal for IAF to make the score 1-0. In the 15th minute of the game, Indian Navy’s Sushil Dhanwar scored a goal to level the score 1-1. The score remained 1-1 till the end of the stipulated time. Indian Navy Mumbai defeated Indian Air Force 3-1 in a penalty shootout to enter the semi-final.

The second quarterfinal was played between Indian Railways Delhi and BSF Jalandhar. In the very first minute of the game, Gursahib Singh of Indian Railways scored a goal to make the score 1-0. Shriyas Bhavikdas Dhupe scored a goal to make the score 2-0. Then Lovepreet Singh scored a goal to make it 3-0, Ali Ahmed made the score 4-0 and Lovepreet again scored a goal to make the score 5-0 and helped his team enter the semifinal.
