Industry-academia event ends

The National Institute of Technology (NIT) concluded a week-long management development programme (MDP) focussed on productivity enhancement soft tools for managers and owners’ recently.
The programme which attracted a diverse audience including industry professionals, owners, managers, and supervisors, witnessed enthusiastic participation from the sports, hand tool, and leather industries.
The MDP was tailored to address the specific needs of professionals from diverse sectors, with a notable representation from different industries and academia. The cross-industry and academia collaboration facilitated a rich exchange of ideas and experiences. Renowned industry professionals Ashwani Victor, Sudhir Gera and Harvinder Singh from sports and leather industry also addressed the audience during inauguration.
Renowned experts from industry and academia delivered insightful sessions, sharing valuable knowledge and practical tools to enhance productivity in managerial roles. The programme emphasised the integration of soft tools, focussing on lean manufacturing, quality management, social enterprises and funding modes for start-ups.
Alumnus of the institute, Tanmay Mukherjee, who has 27 years of diverse experience and is a mentor for social enterprises who has worked with Sonam Wangchuk, the real hero of ‘3 Idiots’ in Ladakh, delivered sessions for two consecutive days. His mesmerising talks motivated everyone to work for developing and solving problems in our rural and backward areas.
