The Border Security Force Inter-Frontier Gymnastic Competition-2021, hosted by the Frontier Headquarters of the BSF, Jalandhar, started on Thursday.
The sportsmen of 11 Frontiers of Border Security Force are participating in the competition. The event was declared open by Pratul Gautam, DIG (PSO), Punjab Frontier, in a ceremony held at Ashwini Stadium, BSF Campus, Jalandhar Cantt. The opening ceremony included oath ceremony followed by impressive march past by the Frontier teams.
The DIG said, “The BSF lays stress on games and competitions of different disciplines as a regular part of its day-to-day functioning. It helps personal enhancement of much needed physical and mental robustness, which is vital for enduring the rigours of border guarding in the challenging scenario. The Inter-Frontier Championships are organised as force-level sports tournaments where potential talents are spotted, selected and further put through rigorous coaching under the supervision of seasoned coaches. These competitions provide a healthy platform for BSF sportsmen to exhibit their talent and sportsmanship for the national and international events.”
