Shri Devi Talab Mandir, a venerated Shakti peeth of the country was decked up with 1,21,000 earthen lamps to mark the occasion of the ‘pran pratishtha’ of Ram Lalla at Ayodhya. State BJP president Sunil Jakhar and Union Minister Som Parkash also paid obeisance at the temple to mark the occasion. AAP MP Sushil Rinku, BJP National Executive member Manoranajan Kalia, RS MP Ashok Mittal, BJP leader Avinash Chander, among other leaders also offered prayers.

Speaking on the occasion, Jakhar said, “The moment which was awaited for the past 500 years, has finally arrived. I congratulate people across the globe and in India on the occasion of ‘pran pratishtha’ of Ram Lalla at Ayodhya. I hope that the dream of the ‘ram rajya’ which was earlier only talked about, will be now be fulfilled. This is the hope with which I have paid obeisance to Lord Rama today. I also hope that love and communal brotherhood continues to be upheld in the state.”

Thousands of devotees thronged the temple premises lighting diyas and chanting prayers. The road to Devi Talab Mandir, decorated with saffron flags, saw heavy traffic jams all through as serpentine queues of vehicles queued up for hours. — TNS
