Jalandhar Commissionerate Police bust gang involved in cross-border smuggling of illegal weapons

Four arrested with three pistols and 14 rounds, were involved in gang war with gangsters residing abroad.

Those arrested have been identified as gangster Jaspreet Singh alias Jassa Harike, along with three of his gang members.

According to CIA Staff Incharge Surinder Singh Kamboj, the accused were involved in procuring weapons and heroin from Pakistan via drones. Acting on a tip-off, the police had arrested one of Jassa’s associates who had arrived in the city for supply operations. Subsequent interrogations facilitated the sequential arrests, culminating in the detention of Jassa and his three accomplices.

Jassa faces more than 15 FIRs in Punjab, encompassing charges under the Arms Act, NDPS Act, attempted murder and various other criminal offenses.
