Jalandhar engineer tops PCS exam

Engineer Navdeep Singh, an experienced officer from Jalandhar's Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, has achieved the first rank in Punjab in the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) Register-C exam. The results, announced recently, marked a significant milestone as only five posts in this category are available across the state.

With over 22 years of dedicated service, Navdeep Singh has been instrumental in advancing agricultural initiatives and addressing key challenges in Jalandhar and Hoshiarpur districts. As part of the department's engineering wing, his responsibilities span critical areas such as agricultural mechanisation, crop residue management and tubewell operations.

Navdeep Singh said this year, he served as the nodal officer for stubble management, working closely with the local administration. "My efforts contributed to a remarkable 70 per cent reduction in stubble burning incidents, a key factor in combating air pollution during the harvest season," he added.

Meanwhile, members of the Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Department congratulated Navdeep for his exemplary performance in the PPSC exam, underscoring his expertise and dedication that makes him a standout professional in the field. He thanked his colleagues, friends, and family for their support throughout his journey.
