Jalandhar marks Independence Day with patriotic fervour

The city residents are all geared up to celebrate Independence Day with a spirit of patriotism. The Daud Runners Club is organising a 3 km run on Friday morning, followed by flag hoisting, a crossfit session, and games at Urban Estate, Phase-2. Various roundabouts and road intersections across the city have been decorated with strings of tricolour cloth and decorative lights.

The CT Group on Thursday undertook 79 acts of kindness under the theme "From Free India to Kind India." Through initiatives such as plantation drives, sanitary pad distribution, sanitation efforts, book and stationery donations, and health check-ups, these individual contributions accumulated into a remarkable total of 79 acts-symbolising 79 years of India's Independence.

At Dr B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, NSS and NCC cadets organised a spirited 'Har Ghar Tiranga' yatra as part of the ongoing Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations. The initiative aimed at fostering patriotism, encouraging civic pride, and inspiring every citizen to hoist the National Flag at their homes in honour of India's Independence.

Innocent Hearts School celebrated Independence Day through a week-long series of vibrant cultural and creative activities blending artistic expression, patriotic fervour, and thought-provoking discussions.

Sanskriti KMV School joined the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign, organised under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and initiated by the CBSE. Young learners showcased their talents through collage making on themes like Proud Moments of India and Digital India. The artistic flair continued with poster making and paintings on India's achievements.

The NCC/NSS Committee of Lyallpur Khalsa College Technical Campus celebrated the day at Government Smart Senior Secondary School, Dhadda village. NCC cadets performed a skit, and a documentary on the freedom struggle was screened for students, aiming to educate and inspire by showcasing the sacrifices made for Independence.

Police DAV Public School marked the 79th Independence Day with a spectacular parade presented by the NCC and NSS wings, along with the Scouts and Guides unit of the school. The parade was inspected by Principal Dr. Rashmi Vij.

Ivy World School featured soulful patriotic songs, energetic dances, and thought-provoking skits reflecting India's rich cultural heritage and paying tribute to the sacrifices of freedom fighters.

Apeejay School, Model Town, Jalandhar, celebrated Independence Day through patriotic poems, speeches, songs, dances, and a powerful role play paying homage to India's great freedom fighters.
