Jalandhar: Nayasha bags 3 golds in Swimming

Jalandhar: Cambridge International School, Phagwara, felt proud when its student Nayasha won three gold medals in the District Swimming Competition organised by the Swimming Association, Jalandhar. In the competition, 260 students participated from various schools U-14, U-17 and U-19 categories. Nayasha (class 11 sciences) took part in U-17 category wherein she grabbed three gold medals for 100 m, 200 m and 50 m backstroke. She was also the recipient of a bronze medal for 50m freestyle. Nayasha made the school proud when she was selected for the state level competition. Principal Jorawar Singh congratulated the girl for her performance and wished her luck for her future participations. Chairperson Jasbir Bassi praised Nayasha’s performance and congratulated her.

Hasya Kavita Pratiyogita

Apeejay School organised an Inter-House Hasya Kavita Pratiyogita. The event aimed to celebrate creativity and the art of humour through poetry, encouraging participants to engage with their audience in a lighthearted manner. The winners of the competition in senior category were Tanushree Khanna, Tanmay Kapoor, Amaira Sahni and Khushi Malhotra. In middle category, Vani Shah, Nishaant Kapoor and Saanvi Chodha won prizes.

University results

Students of M.Vocational (Web Technology and Multimedia) Semester 1 of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya brought laurels to the college by scoring highest SGPA in the university. Tavleen Kaur and Srishti got 9.40 SGPA. Principal Ajay Sareen congratulated the students and Head of the Department Ashish Chadha. On the occasion, Dr Rakhi Mehta, Head Design Department, was also present.

Prof given farewell

Dr Davinder Khera, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Political Science and Vice Principal (retd) from Lyallpur Khalsa College for Women, after completing 33 years of service. Apart from fulfilling her teaching responsibilities, she also actively headed various committees of the college. Dr Navjot, Principal, Lyallpur Khalsa College for Women, congratulated her on her retirement. Balbir Kaur, President, Governing Council, KCL Group of Institutions and Dr Navjot handed over the gratuity cheque to Dr Davinder Khera on her retirement. Dr Davinder Khera also expressed her heartfelt gratitude towards the management, Principal, and college fraternity for making her work span a memorable journey.

Talent hunt show

The cultural team of Innocent Hearts Group of Institutions organised a talent hunt show, La Talento-2024, to welcome new students from all streams and showcase their intrinsic talents. The event featured an array of performances, including group singing, group dance, instrumental music, solo singing, solo dance, and ad-mad show. The event was graced by Dr Arjinder, Principal, as the chief guest. Rahul Jain, Director (Operations), and Dr Gagandeep Kaur, Director, Academics, also attended the event and congratulated the participants. They encouraged all students to take part in such events, emphasising the importance of cultural activities in personal and professional development. In solo singing, Deepika stood first. In the solo dance, Jaskirat Kaur clinched the first prize. Navneet, Bhavleen, Joyce and Jaspinder won the first prize in group singing. Asneet and Nitika were the winners of group dance event.
