The Jalandhar Commissionerate police have arrested a member associated with the Gounder gang and seized four pistols and 100 gm heroin in the process.

According to Commissioner of Police, encounter erupted during a recovery operation while the accused was in police remand.

Many cases of extortion, robbery, drugs and attempted murder were registered against him, the official said. The accused also supplied weapons to other gang members.
