Jalandhar police arrest notorious snatcher

The Jalandhar rural police have apprehended a notorious snatcher who was involved in a series of thefts. The police said the suspect, Ajay Kumar of Kahluwar village, was arrested during a raid by officials at the Bhogpur police station.
Senior Superintendent of Police Harkamal Preet Singh Khakh said the operation was executed under the supervision of DSP Adampur Sumit Sood, following a tip. He said the team, led by SHO Sikander Singh, nabbed the suspect and recovered significant evidence linked to his criminal activities.
The SSP said the team recovered a scooter used in the crimes, a smartwatch worth Rs 25,000, five high-end mobile phones, a wallet containing cash and a data card, which were suspected to be associated with illegal activities.
SSP Khakh said, "The police team spotted the suspect on a scooter. When they signalled him to stop, the suspect attempted to flee. The team nabbed him after a brief pursuit.”
The SSP said the arrested individual would be produced in the local court, where the police would seek his remand for further interrogation as they anticipate the recovery of more stolen items.
