The Jalandhar Commissionerate police recovered 30 lost and missing mobile phones with the assistance of the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal.
The recovery operation was carried out under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Dhanpreet Kaur, along with ADCP (Operations) Vineet Ahlawat and ACP (Cyber Crime) Roopdeep Kaur. Using advanced digital tracking methods, the IT staff of the Commissionerate Police traced the IMEI numbers of the lost devices. After proper verification, the 30 mobile phones of various brands were handed back to their rightful owners.
The CEIR portal, an initiative of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Government of India, allows the blocking of lost or stolen mobile phones, preventing misuse and enabling recovery through IMEI-based tracking across all telecom networks.
Jalandhar Commissionerate Police has urged citizens to promptly report their lost or stolen mobile phones on the CEIR portal (https://ceir.gov.in) to ensure timely recovery and assistance.
