The Kartarpur police station of Jalandhar Rural police has successfully solved a robbery case within 24 hours, recovering Rs 2 lakh cash and seizing the vehicle used in the crime. Two accused, Karanjit Singh and Satnam Singh, were arrested in connection with the robbery.

According to SSP, Jalandhar Rural, Harkamalpreet Singh Khakh, special teams were immediately constituted to track down the perpetrators after the report of the robbery was filed. The successful operation was carried out under the supervision of Jasroop Kaur Bath, SP (Investigation), and Surinder Pal, DSP Kartarpur.

The incident occurred on January 30, around 5 am, when the complainant, Arman Sood, was standing near Vaishno Dhaba with his brother Rishav Sood. The victim, who was preparing to travel to Australia, was carrying his passport and Rs 3 lakh in cash. Two individuals in an Alto car threatened the victim and fled with the money and passport.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the accused had carefully planned the robbery after identifying their target. They had been monitoring the movement of people carrying substantial amounts of cash in the area. The car used in the crime was also seized, providing additional leads for investigating similar incidents in the region.

The arrested accused will be produced in the local court, and their police remand will be sought for further investigation. The investigating team believes that the interrogation may lead to the recovery of the remaining amount and possibly uncover the accused’s involvement in other similar crimes.
