As the four-day District Badminton Championship, which was underway at Raizada Hansraj Stadium, concluded here on Sunday. Deputy Commissioner Dr Himanshu Aggarwal distributed prizes to the winners.

The men’s title went for the third time to Madhav Kanojia while the women’s title was clinched by Samridhi Bhardwaj for the second consecutive year. The first runners-up in the men’s category was Divyam Sachdeva, while MBBS student Jaismeen Malhi was the first runners-up among women.

Manmohit Sandhu paired with Manya Ralhan clinched the mixed doubles title. Sisters Manya Ralhan and Saanvi Ralhan won the Girls’ Doubles U-19 title. Samridhi Bhardwaj won another gold medal winning U-19 Singles. Simran Gilhotra was the runner-up in this category.

Inayat Gulati remained a star player by bagging five gold medals. She won the girls’ singles titles in U-13, U-15 and U-17 categories. — TNS
