Janta curfew: Police to ensure compliance

As the nation gears up for the ‘janta curfew’ on Sunday, the administration and police on Saturday appealed residents to stay indoor to avoid any kind of social activity. Various measures have been put in place for the safe medical awareness and health check-ups.

The Deputy Commissioner urged residents to use helpline numbers only for any kind of first hand information related to Covid-19. Only emergency vehicles would be operating in the district on Sunday and traffic police would keep a tab on plying of private vehicles on roads. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Balkar Singh said several police teams had been formed to maintain law and order in the city and cops would make sure residents stay inside.

In addition, as the railways has cancelled movement of trains on Sunday, Vikas Jaitley, an official at the city railway station said, more than 30 trains have also been cancelled till March 31.
