Labour leader Jarnail Nangal formally took charge as Chairman of the Phagwara Improvement Trust on Tuesday, pledging to prioritise affordable housing and enhance the transparency of public services.

The induction ceremony was attended by Punjab Minister for Local Government Dr Ravjot Singh, Member of Parliament Dr Raj Kumar Chabbewal, MLA Kulwant Pandori and former minister Joginder Singh Maan, District Planning Board Chairperson Lalit Saklani, Santosh Kumar Gogi and other dignitaries.

Congratulating Nangal on his appointment, Cabinet Minister Dr Ravjot Singh said the state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, is committed to sustainable urban development and inclusive governance. He expressed confidence that Nangal, a young and dedicated member of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), would bring energy and integrity to the role.

In his address, Nangal expressed gratitude to AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal.
